Jonathan Borroto

Head Editorial Intern, FIU URJ Website Designer (2022)

Jonathan is currently purusing a B.A. in Philosophy as well as a minor in Psychology at FIU. His fields of interests are ancient philosophy, metaphysics, german idealism, contientental philosophy, feminism, cultural studies, critical theory, and psychodynamic theory. He enjoys cooking and listening to music in his free time.

Ana Ruas

Lead STEM Editorial Intern (2022)

Ana graduated from FIU with a Bachelors of Science in Biological Sciences and a Bachelors of Arts in English. She is passionate about women’s health research with a focus on gynecological cancers, and aims to become a physician. When not in the research lab, Ana can be found enjoying a good book, at the beach, or spending time with friends and family.

Mario Avalos

Student Editor (2022)

Mario earned his B.A in English Literature while also earning certificates in Film Studies as well as Professional and Public Writing. He graduated with a Master’s Degree in Rhetoric and Composition in Spring 2021. Today, he aids graduate students in their research as a tutor for the Center for Excellence in Writing and teaches First Year Composition courses for the Department of English.

Natalie Vargas

Natalie received a B.A. in English on the Creative Writing track with a second degree in Psychology in 2021. When not working at the Center for Excellence in Writing or attending one of the many CEW conversation circles, Natalie can be found working on highly specific playlists and analyzing the latest films and books.

Devorah Rovner

Devorah graduated with a B.A of Science in Biology from Florida International University. She is passionate about all things science-related, and wants to pursue a career as a physician. When she is not busy with school work or school-related activities, Devorah enjoys spending time with family and friends. She loves reading and traveling the world.

Natalie Casebone

Student Editor (2022)

Natalie Casabone received her B.A Degree in English, a Certificate in Public and Professional Writing, and Certificate in Global Media and Communication from Florida International University in July 2020. She worked at The Center for Excellence in Writing for three years as both undergraduate tutor and receptionist. She is passionate about writing, higher education, and looking for ways to improve the lives of marginalized groups.
